As kids we dream of soaring above the clouds, climbing the tallest tree or going on adventures.
Last month we went on our biggest adventure to date. Huge mountains, vast landscapes, roaring seas, a land of Fire and Ice. Iceland was the experience of a lifetime, never have we seen such diverse and indescribable beauty. We can’t say whether it was the ice worlds of the south or the mountains of the north that left such an impression on us. Countless waterfalls decorated the roadways as we traveled from one side of the country to the other. Thousand year old glacial ice littered the black sanded beaches of the southeast shores. Wild Icelandic horses and reindeer roam freely throughout the country. A world so wild and untamed only seems possible in the imagination of a child. That's what adventure does, it takes us back to the moments of our youth, exploring the unknown, going where we were told never to go.
The weather is as wild as the landscape, we nearly caught frost bite photographing the northern lights. In the southeast the winds coming off the enormous Vatnajokull Glacier blew outward towards the ocean in gusts of over 50 mph, making photography nearly impossible. We drove countless miles and slept few hours. Despite exhaustion and lack of sleep we came home with some stunning photos and amazing videos, but most importantly we came home with priceless memories.
