Second City, Chi-Town, The Windy City...these are just a few nicknames for the great city of Chicago, home to some of the countries finest shopping, cuisines and architecture. The city has experienced it's rough times in the past, being severely effected during the Great Depression and then of course there was The Great Chicago fire of 1871 in which 4 miles of the city were destroyed. However it was in the very ashes of that fire that the city would be reborn and ignited a construction boom that would propel the town to eventually becoming the third largest city in America. During the city's rebuilding period the worlds first skyscraper was erected using the steel skeleton design, this was at the time a ground breaking architectural and construction method that would later be adapted by cities all over the world. Today Chicago is a modern metropolis and hosts some of the tallest buildings in the United States. I spent 4 days documenting this beautiful city, shooting along it's streets, rivers, parks and shores of Lake Michigan with my photographic agenda focused on the metropolis's grand architecture. Here are some of my favorite images from my Chicago experience...
CHICAGO IN 4K
Using time lapse photography I was able to capture some of the downtown area's most popular locations in action, these locations included the downtown river walk, North Avenue Beach and the famous Navy Pier. This video embodies the energy and life of the city, showcasing it's nature as a sprawling metropolis during the day and how it transforms to a city of lights at night.
